*JOB DESCRIPTION*
This position serves as the initial point of contact between sales, shipping and receiving, and outbound and inbound freight carriers.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
· Schedule pickups and deliveries for inbound and outbound freight
· Obtain freight rates for inbound and outbound freight
· Process sales orders when completed by sales, adding freight information to the sales orders and shipping documents
· Ensure accuracy of information on sales orders and shipping documents including - weights, piece counts, lot numbers, HAZMAT information, addresses and other shipment details
· Communicate with Shipping and Receiving on inbound and delivered shipments
· Assist purchasing agent with details to ensure accuracy through the receiving process
· Verify delivery to customers back to sales team
· Assist the sales team in gathering and shipping samples to customers
· Answer incoming phone calls

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position is more sedentary than active, but we encourage the employee to move as needed to complete tasks in and around the facilities.

*Position Type/Expected Hours of Work*
This is a part time or full-time position, and hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.
m.
to 5:00 p.
m and Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with one hour given each day for lunch.
*Travel*
No travel is expected for this position.
*Preferred Education and Experience*
· Experience with warehouse work or freight handling is a plus
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Basic computer skills with Excel and Word competency preferred
