Coordinates rosters for jury trials, non-jury trials, and non-jury motions; creates, review, updates, and manage rosters; communicates with and provides information to attorneys and self-represented litigants regarding scheduling, case status, changes, etc.
; prepares and submits all correspondence and notices related to roster management and court schedules; prepares pending case report; researches and reviews case status, motions, appeals, hearings, and filings by self-represented litigants; adds cases to roster according to court rules; coordinates removal due to case type and status; prepares, processes, and submits disposition orders, continuance orders, motions, appeals, petitions, etc.
; assesses, organizes and prioritizes court workload; and develops long-range plans for court approval.
Attends court proceedings; provides copies of weekly roster, along with any changes, for Judge, Law Clerk, Bailiff, Court Reporter and attorneys; documents all courtroom activities regarding the trial and case information into court and case management systems; distributes jury strike sheet; provides guidance to attorneys regarding the striking of the jury; publishes the case for trial in open court; issues oaths to jurors and witnesses; manages for court exhibits; provides information regarding the number of jurors needed to a panel, the jurors chosen, the time court breaks and when the jurors will be returning to appropriate staff.
Performs other related duties as required.
High school diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in court or paralegal services, or a related field; supplemented by three years of experience in providing administrative support in a court or legal setting; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
