Title: AmeriCorps Healthy Futures of Anderson County Program Director
Reports to: CEO/President
Location: United Way of Anderson County
Salary: $40,000 to $60,600 dependent on certifications and experience.
Travel: In-State: Estimated up to 30% of the time including once a month overnight weekend travel, Out-of-State: Estimated <5% of time.
Estimated Start: April/May 2024 United Way of Anderson County is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to serve as the AmeriCorps Healthy Futures Program Director.
Our Healthy Future’s program vision is to make Anderson County the healthiest county in South Carolina.
We're on a mission to address critical issues related to substance misuse, mental health, and behavioral well-being.
At the heart of our program are dedicated AmeriCorps members serving as mentors and contributing to our education and outreach efforts.
Through their commitment we aim to provide 12,000 hours of mentoring, and 12,000 unique touches with community members creating positive and lasting impacts on the lives of those we serve.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our AmeriCorps Healthy Futures program, including recruitment, training, placement, support of AmeriCorps members and oversight of Camp Mariposa grant deliverables.
This role requires strong leadership skills, program management experience, and a commitment to community service and volunteerism.
Key Responsibilities: •Develop and implement a 3-year strategic plan for the AmeriCorps program in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
•Recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates to serve as AmeriCorps members.
•Coordinate and conduct comprehensive training programs for AmeriCorps members, including orientation, professional development, and ongoing support.
•Collaborate with community partners to identify service opportunities and placements for AmeriCorps members.
•Establish and maintain strong relationships with AmeriCorps members, providing guidance, mentorship, and support throughout their service term.
•Oversee the implementation and compliance of Camp Mariposa grant deliverables, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
•Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure compliance with AmeriCorps regulations, Camp Mariposa grant requirements, and program standards.
•Manage program budget and resources effectively, ensuring responsible stewardship of funds allocated for Education and Outreach and Camp Mariposa activities.
•Coordinate reporting of data and outcomes related to AmeriCorps service activities and Camp Mariposa grant deliverables.
•Represent the AmeriCorps program and Camp Mariposa initiatives at community events, meetings, and conferences to promote awareness and engagement.
Qualifications: •Preferred bachelor’s degree in public health, community development, social work, or related field.
•Preferred 3 + years of nonprofit program leadership experience or equivalent combined through training education and other service roles.
•Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
•Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
•Knowledge of health promotion principles, community engagement strategies, and volunteer management practices.
•Familiarity with AmeriCorps programs and regulations is desirable.
•Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in program design and implementation.
•Flexibility to travel occasionally and work evenings or weekends as needed.
